Music Ministry

"Those who sing, pray twice!"

The St. Eulalia music program strives to foster community participation in the liturgy through sung prayer. We celebrate the ethnic diversity of the Parish through the liturgy.

We currently utilize fairly consistently three sources for our hymn selections: the “Gather” Hymnal, the “Lead Me, Guide Me” Hymnal, and “Celebremos” (Missalette). The primary musical styles we perform are: pop, rock, gospel, folk, traditional spirituals, classical, among others. We enjoy updating songs from all styles and periods to keep our rhythms sparking, toes tapping, and hands clapping.

The Adult Choir sings at all 10 a.m. liturgies, special liturgies and services (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Taize). They rehearse on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m and after the 10 a.m. Mass. For a schedule or more information, please call the Parish House or stop by after Mass.

The choir consists of WONDERFUL volunteers who give their time and talent to lead the worship through song. The choir director focuses on technique, tuning, musicianship, and spiritual expression. ALL ARE WELCOME!

St. Eulalia has several talented volunteer cantors from the Parish who sing regularly at the Saturday 4:00 p.m. Mass and the 8:00 a.m. Sunday Mass along with the acting music director Jillann Gabrielle who also sings from the piano. Those interested in cantoring just speak to the director after Mass.

We welcome ALL who want to participate...singers AND instrumentalists. We have a highly skilled volunteer rhythm section consisting of piano, electric bass, drum set, and guitar. We are currently looking for other instruments, such as: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, harmonica, oboe, violin, etc. We do have a jazz organ just sitting there waiting for the right keyboardist to further enhance the liturgy. We are also looking for a volunteer music librarian.

We bring in talented vocal soloists from the Chicago area to sing special songs during the communion meditation. They volunteer their time as they bring more musical and ethnic diversity to our already lively and inspiring liturgical setting.
