The International Fest will take place on Sunday, September 30. Arlene Buhay is chairing the committee to plan the events of the day. Many volunteers are needed to coordinate the event, so please try and give some of your time to one of the planning committees….we need you! Last years Fest was a HUGE success due to the hard work of all who prepared and cooked the wonderful dishes; the food ran out within the first 2 hours, which means we need to DOUBLE the amount of food. Dig out some of your old/new recipes and plan on making a dish for the Fest. If we are going to continue to grow as a parish, we need to have more events like the Fest to build
up the community in the Spirit.
Speaking of the Spirit, we are preparing as a Church to celebrate the Feast of PENTECOST on the weekend of May 27-28; we will have only ONE Mass on Sunday at 10:00 A.M. Once again, all are asked to wear RED…the color of the FIRE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. This ancient Feast marks the end of the Easter season and the beginning of the Church. When Jesus ascended to his Father, he left us with the Holy Spirit to continue his ministry and mission. When we are led by the Spirit, we will be empowered to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. A Church that is not guided and enlivened by the Holy Spirit is a church that is lifeless and mediocre. The Spirit is what helps us to live as Christ lived and to love as Christ loved. Pentecost is our Feast… please don’t miss it and bring a friend.
